September News: Challenger Deep Honors, Violent Ends, the Unwind Movie, and More
I’m thrilled to announce that Challenger Deep is one of ten books nominated for the young-adult division of the National Book Award! Yee-haw! My son and co-writer Brendan and I are humbled and beyond honored to receive this recognition.
What else is new? It’s hard to believe it’s September already—what a busy year it’s been! I went on two book tours in the spring—one with Eric Elfman for Edison’s Alley, book two of the Accelerati Trilogy, and another for Challenger Deep. I visited Europe to visit with my Dutch, German, and Hungarian Publishers in June. Then, in July, I was invited to the Celsius 232 Book Festival—a fantastic festival that’s like the Spanish Comic Con—in Avilés, Spain. Now I’m home and working on meeting various deadlines. And gearing up for the Unwind movie!
Another new project I’m excited to share is Violent Ends, a short story anthology co-written by 17 different YA authors. Read an excerpt from the story Brendan and I contributed here.
